On-Premises or a Dedicated Private Cloud? How to Choose Between the Two

On-Premises or a Dedicated Private Cloud? How to Choose Between the Two

AginGoGo can run in your own server room (on-premises) or in a dedicated private cloud. Both keep your data and files under the company's control. This article explains how the two differ and which suits whom.

What both options share

First, what does not change. Whether on-premises or a dedicated private cloud:

  • Your data and files stay under the company's control and are never shared with another company.
  • The company's own skills (skill), tool connections (MCP), and three layers of memory all belong to you.
  • Staff still hand off work in their usual messaging app; the way they use it does not change.

The only difference is where the system actually runs and who maintains it.

On-premises

Runs in your own server room

On-premises means installing AginGoGo on your own servers in your own server room. Data and files never leave the company network, and your IT team controls updates and backups. It assumes you have suitable hardware and IT staff.

Dedicated private cloud

Dedicated to your company, shared with no one else

A dedicated private cloud means placing AginGoGo in cloud space dedicated to your company and shared with no one else. You do not supply your own hardware, provisioning is relatively quick, the cloud environment is maintained for you, and your IT team carries a lighter load.

The differences at a glance

DeploymentData locationSetup speedMaintenanceWho it suits
On-premisesYour own server room; data does not leave the company networkNeeds existing hardware and IT support; more upfront preparationYour IT team handles updates and backupsCompanies with a server room and IT staff that must keep data in-house
Dedicated private cloudCloud dedicated to your company, shared with no one elseNo hardware to supply; provisioning is relatively quickThe cloud environment is maintained for you; lighter load on ITCompanies with no server room of their own that want to start quickly but keep an isolated environment

Look at the constraints before the speed

If regulations or company policy require that data never leaves the company, start by looking at on-premises. Without that constraint, and if you want to start quickly, a dedicated private cloud is usually less work.

How to choose

  • You have your own server room and IT, and data must stay in-house → choose on-premises.
  • You have no server room of your own, want to start quickly, and still want an isolated environment → choose a dedicated private cloud.
  • Still unsure → tell us about your hardware, IT staff, and regulatory requirements, and we will decide together.
